Tree drawing

Wanting to use nature as a direct source of mark making and imagery, I followed Tim Knowles’ technique of tree drawing by tying a pen to a tree branch with string, and allowing it to freely make marks on a piece of paper. I’m not happy with this first attempt because the markings aren’t obvious, and I feel that the weather effected this immensely as it was heavy wind and rain at the time. I also think it would work better with a stronger pigment of colour, for example a black.
