Photography of the natural and the unaturalPosted: March 27, 2014
I’ve taken some images using a canon 550D to take some images of the natural and unnatural, for a contrast with nature and man-made phenomena. I used a macro lense to get good quality close-ups to create more of an abstraction of the subjects. I’ve represented nature through trees, leaves, flowers, cacti, a skull and used man made effected items such as burnt wood/charcoal, crushed Coca-Cola cans, old plastic covering material, bin bags, cigarette butts, bottle lids. When taking the photographs I was considering point of focus a lot to create abstract and opaque shapes because I want people to contemplate the shapes and colours before establishing what the actual forms are. I also considered colour, as I’ve been working with using the colours of these opposites to create and image of interrelationship.
